One of my favorite experiences to date was visiting La Pause outside of Marrakech. The website leaves a bit of mystery as to what you will find upon arrival, which only added to the excitement of the experience. The eco resort is a hotel that also hosts lavish dinners and experiences such as camel rides in the desert.
La Pause was the perfect break from the craziness of Marrakech. It's located about an hour's drive from Marrakech in the middle of the desert, surrounded by sandy hills with herds of sheep.
It was beautiful to watch the sun set over the hills, enjoy a glass of wine, and hear the call to prayer from the nearest town.
The desolate landscape felt like being on mars.
After the sun set my friends and I were taken down a candlelit path to our own private tent. We dined on tagine and couscous, and of course, delicious moroccan breads. If you go don't make the mistake that I did, and make sure you splurge for a camel ride before dinner. I will definitely be going back to this special place again.
