A few weeks ago we took a trip to Upstate New York. I found the most adorable cabin on Airbnb right outside of town of Hudson. The place used to be a summer camp, but has since been renovated. The fall foliage was at its peak and it was so nice to get out into nature, enjoy some relaxing time by the fire, and get away from crazy city life. If you are looking to get away but still have access to some nice meals and a little shopping Hudson is the place. Below are some of my recommendations for Hudson.
Fish and Game: They offer both a tasting Menu and a prix fixe. We got the chicken for two and it was delish. Their bar also has light snacks and is the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail by their cozy fire.
Moto Coffee: The place to go to get your afternoon flat white and pastry fix.
Gaskins: Located in nearby Germantown this gastropub serves seasonal comfort food and is run by the nicest couple who has worked at several well known restaurants in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Bonfiglio and Bread: A small cafe that serves wonderful food. I recommend it for breakfast.
Grazin Diner: Go here for lunch where you have your pick of nearly a dozen burgers and all the meat is Animal Welfare Approved.
Dish: You guessed it, a store that carries adorable dishes (my weakness) and other kitchen accessories.
Hawkins New York: High quality blankets, pillows, and mugs you never knew you needed until you walk through the store and then you need one of everything in every color.
Woodstock General Supply: Go here if you forgot to bring a good wool hat or a pair of gloves.
Flower Kraut: A flower shop filled with unique blooms and fun gifts.
